The SLY DOGS Band was started in 2010 when a group of musicians found each other, each having the same objective….”playing music for the love of the art”. The band is made up of well-experienced musicians that have settled in Central Florida. They have played for many years, in various bands, doing venues from the club circuit to concerts. Being older now, the members were all looking for a group situation where they could play together part time at their studio and gig out when the urge strikes... hence...they became the SLY DOGS.

The band performs classic rock songs from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s to present material. Each time theY play out it’s a party! You will recognize all their material and most likely remember where you were when the song was on the charts. Don’t miss their next performance. It will be a most memorable event!



BIOS



Kevin Howell, Vocals:   Originally from the Boston area, Kevin moved to Orlando in 2006. He has been singing forever. At the age of 17 he gained his high school letter from being in advanced chorus where he represented Massachusetts in the all state chorus competition. From there Kevin was in various bands from the 80’s through the 90’s. He then took a break from the music business for a while, but like all good musicians, missed it and couldn’t stay away. Kevin joined the SLY DOGS after answering an ad on craigslist . It took less that five minutes for all concerned to know that he was the right front man for the band. Kevin’s original forte was heavy metal and he was greatly influenced by Ronnie James Dio. In the time away from music, Kevin developed a wide variety of influences such as The Beatles, The Who, Pink Floyd, Motown. Kevin recently made an attempt at the X Factor auditions where he succeeded in advancing to the second round of auditions. Kevin is a dynamic front man who delivers a song like few singers can..

Art Peloso, Guitar:   Born and raised in New Jersey, Artie started playing the club circuit at the age of 17 and continued in the music business for the next 12 years. He not only played, but also worked as a manager and agent for other bands, which gave him the privilege of working with some great names and talent in the business. He then moved to Central Florida to open a night club and remained in the restaurant/lounge business until 1996, always keeping a guitar close by and sitting in with a band when ever possible. Now having more free time, he was able to return to his passion of music and began playing again. When he decided to form a band in 2010, his first call was to Orlando, a long time friend. The result is the SLY DOGS band.

Orlando Colom, Guitar:   Moved to Orlando in 1970 at the age12, and has been here ever since. He started playing guitar at the age of 14, after hearing Smoke On The Water by Deep Purple. Orlando played in rock bands all thru high school in the early 70's and continued playing rock until the Disco era began. He then spent 4 years playing guitar in a top 40 band called Thriller. He claims it was a real change of pace, doing disco, since he preferred rock, but he had a blast doing it! Then came the 80’s and rock was at the forefront again. Orlando was back to his forte being influenced by bands from Van Halen to ZZ Top. These days he still enjoys playing rock the most, but has come to love country, fusion, and anything that is fun to play.

James Stiggins, Bass:   James is an original member of SLY DOGS and the only one native to Orlando Florida. James got his start in high school jamming with friends at parties. Soon after, he joined his first band at the age of 19 after answering an ad posted at a local music store. Originally a guitar player, he switched over to bass as he saw a need for bass players in the area. He Stuck to it and has been playing bass since 1986. James has played shows, parties, bars, concerts, and festivals, spring break at Daytona Beach … you name it. He now kicks back and enjoys playing classic rock with a group of SLY DOGS. He also volunteers his time playing with a church group.

Jon Solomonson, Drums:   Jon joined the band in late 2011 and was a great and natural addition to the band. Jon's been playing drums since he was a kid. Name a style and he's played it with a band: Punk bands, Metal bands, Country bands, Marching bands, Jazz bands….even big-haired 80's Metal bands. Jon grew in up Alexandria, VA but spent some time pursuing his musical goals in Los Angeles, and Denver before settling in Orlando in 2000. Amoung others, he's played with The Michael J. Band, Phat Lipp, Groove King Agents, Teaser and now SLY DOGS.
